"American Betsy" Doll

Hand made doll. Black yarn hair,button eyes and embroidered features. Dressed in a dress with burgandy bodice and navy skirt with tiny stars. Betsy is holding a large stuffed heart. Sharon Thomas, who lives in Knott County, Kentucky loves to make dolls. Each one of her dolls is unique - they have their own special personality. Sharon says that she would make a doll a day if she could. She is passionate about producing this traditional Appalachian craft. Dolls historically were made from scraps of fabric and sewn together by hand. They were a welcome present for a young child in the mountains. Today, dolls are loved by all ages.
