If you enjoy working with young people and are good at reading or math, we may have a rewarding summer job for you!
Each summer Hindman Settlement School hires approximately 35 tutors and supervisors to work in the Summer Tutoring Program. We give first consideration to tutors who have experience working in our program but also typically hire several new tutors.
Summer School will be held June 22-July 24, 2009 and tutor training will take place June 18-20th. You will be paid for the days of training. Our program is full-time for five weeks. If you are planning on taking any vacation during this time, do not apply!
We have a mandatory drug screening policy for all employees of Hindman Settlement School including Summer School workers. Because of the number of Summer School workers and the costs of drug screenings, all drug screenings are random. If you refuse to be tested then you will be dismissed.
Experienced tutors should return their application by May 15, 2009. After this date, we will be considering applications from other interested individuals.
