Donor Recognition

Businesses & Nonprofits

Hindman Settlement School donor clubs provide a way to recognize donors who have made significant contributions in support of the Settlement School’s mission. In addition to other forms of recognition, donor club members are recognized annually in our Donor Report. The following donor clubs recognize annual gifts made by businesses and nonprofits.

HandshakeAnnual Fund Partners
Gifts to Hindman Settlement School’s annual fund are critical to maintaining ongoing programs. Annual Fund Partners are corporate, foundation and nonprofit donors who provide gifts of $5,000 or more (cumulative) within a calendar year. DAR Honor Roll (Daughters of the American Revolution)
Settlement School cofounder and director, May Stone, was among the first generation of women to become active in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). According to a ledger kept by Ms. Stone, Hindman Settlement School was receiving gifts from DAR chapters as early as 1904. In 1921 the National Society DAR officially approved the school to receive ongoing support. Daughters have been partners in supporting the Settlement School ever since. The DAR Honor Roll recognizes DAR State Societies and Chapters that contribute $1,000 or more during a calendar year. Individual DAR member gifts are recognized through the Settlement’s individual donor clubs.
