Rebecca's Bio

Rebecca Ware, Associate Executive Director
Rebecca began working at Hindman Settlement School in December 1976. She has held positions as office manager, bookkeeper and administrative assistant of finances before becoming the Associate Executive Director. Prior to that she had worked as a cashier and as a teacher’s aide. She also was bookkeeper for the Knott County Public Library from 1990-1998.

Rebecca is a graduate of Knott County Central High School and has a diploma from the Business & Office Department of the Knott County Area Technology Center in Hindman, Kentucky.

Rebecca is married to Michael Ware, an art professor and master potter at Alice Lloyd College. They have two children; Matthew and Rachel. Rebecca and Michael are active members of the Hindman United Methodist Church. In their leisure time they enjoy traveling, their cats "Snowflake" and "Sammy," and spending time with their children.
